Early early early in the morning....

The Hunger Task Cleanup was a success. BPG along with many other campus organizations were at the event to help clean up different sites close to the campus some on Keno-where... some in Racilla... lol. Our group signed up to help out at the Girl Scouts site. It was pretty fun I met two new people from school and made a difference. I'm proud of myself... I woke up early early early in the morning... for me anyway... at like 7 on a Saturday morning after a late night to be ready by 8 for the cleanup. I was cranky... tired... and just not in my element. But eventually I had fun. We had to clean up the campsites. there were random fire pits throughout the grounds and we had to "make them look pretty" that was our task... I tried to take pictures but at the like fifth one... my batteries died.... sorry... didn't think that they would die so fast. beyond the point... There were many organizations there... Greeks At parkside.... BSU... BPG... just to name a few. I was pretty surprised at the turnout... it was a weekend... early in the morning on a nice day... but people still showed up. I must say when people are needed people show up to help out. I've got to make sure I charge up my batteries for Wednesday... there is a Step and Stroll expo...GAP (Greeks at Parkside) are doing it big for greek week... so many events so little time. it'll be intresting. I can't wait!

Jaz's Birthday Celebration!

So My roomie and long time friend turned 20 yesterday. We had to do her birthday over the top because she was the mastermind behind everyone else's birthday parties. So the way that we chose to go about things was by telling her that we would celebrate her birthday on Friday when everyone got paid. She fell for it... mad as ever about it but she did... to make her more mad I told her that I used the money that I was going to use to buy stuff for her birthday to buy my 200 and somethin' dollar skates... she was too pissed at me! It was so hard to keep that act up for the week and weekend. Man she hated me so bad... I didn't really do that but I was going to use that money for my skates but her birthday is a little more important to me than new skates... I can get those later. We had everyone tellin' her that Friday we would get her a cake and go out to eat and go bowling and all this stuff and you could tell that she was a little hurt about it but she was making it seem like it was okay... I felt horrible! She was so sad all day... but that was worth the reaction we got out of her when we surprised her. I had to keep her away from the dorms all day long... that was so hard! but everyone else made the magic happen. the plan was to have her think that we were keeping her away from the room so that we could decorate it... and she'd be all excited about getting the door decorated when in reality it wasn't decorated at all... and then she'd be all sad again... and then someone would call her and ask for help with math homework and have her come to the basement and help. where all the people were and the room was decorated and reserved just for her Birthday... that didn't really workout... we never went to the dorm first... we went straight to the basement after the BPG meeting... but her reaction was priceless... lol Scooby and Dora theme people everywhere... decorations it was all fun and games. On the down side she had like two test the next day and needed to study so it was sort of rushed... but fun none the less.

New look for Ranger mail...

So we've officially made the switch from whatever our email service was before over to MSN. I can deal with the new look. There is a lot more that you can do now, it's a little less confusing and a better color for the background... no offense to the school colors but that shade of green isn't hot on a web page... Now you can customize your background to an extent... it's cool. But updates on campus happenings... Radio shows are doin' great... check out my show along with my other friends on Wednesdays and Sundays... if you live in the Keno-where or Racilla area... tune in on the radio dial to 88.5 FM or online at wipzradio.com we love attention and listeners it would really help if you called in with any feed back positive or negative... just keep it polite please... there's a way to send us hate mail from our page... check it out. We recently had an unruly racist caller who harassed us all night Sunday so we have to take certain precautions and things and say warnings over the air that harassing phone calls wouldn't be accepted and the cops would be called... I kept my cool... throughout the situation it took a while to calm down enough to be polite on air so I let a few songs play to blow some steam and politely informed the radio listeners that we are a diverse radio station and have shows of every genre and if hip hop ad R&B was not pleasing to please tune in to our other shows described on our website.

On a lighter note... Today is Jaz's birthday and she's so mad at me...lol I'll get into that after Friday... because she reads this blog from time to time... I'll have the pics...lol

LATIN DANCING (me and Kayla)
A BPG MEETING
LATIN DANCING
MEMORIES OF CHILDHOOD HAND GAMES

So I've been doing pretty bad at keeping up with my blogs... Sorry I apologize. I've been to a few events since my last entry. I have pictures of some... but not all. There was the rest of the world bazaar events... the Latin Dancing demonstration where everyone could join and/or watch Cesar Lopez teach people how to do various Latin dances. I had class but I stayed as long as I could. I learned a few new moves and added my own little knowledge of a few types of dances to the mix. There was a slight lack of male volunteers so I danced with a friend of mine. He taught Bachata, Cumbia, and Meringue while I was there. It was a little uncomfortable for me to dance with another girl who was outside of my family and who didn't really have great rhythm but I had fun and learned something new.

Also recently in my near past I attended another usual weekly meeting for BPG and we had a musician bring in the electric bass in and he played a few songs for us. I found that cool... since I've always wanted to play bass guitar and electric guitar so finding someone who plays was too hot. We worked on the next event coming which is THE LAST POET STANDING happening on APRIL 30TH @ 9:00PM in the UNION CINEMA. Which is being advertised weekly on the bridge by the cafeteria and is written on one of the windows on the bridge as well. We advertise on the radio and we have fliers. it'll be a big event so come and watch 12 of Parkside's best poets battle it out for the big prize. 3 rounds, 4 poems, 12 poets... 1 one will remain. You decide!
Another thing that has been keeping me busy and away from the blog as much were elections for clubs. I was nominated for several positions in WIPZ and in BPG. I had to keep up with the possible jobs that I'd be doing if I were elected. So that was time consuming.
I didn't win for WIPZ. but that's cool. So far from BPG I'll probably be Public Rep. or Public Rep.
There were a few parties but I didn't go to them because one, I'm broke and two, I've got homework. Finals are coming up fast and I'm behind in a lot of stuff. but I'll keep in touch and all that good stuff... I can't wait until VEGAS NIGHT... pictures will be awesome!!
